Option A · Money
Money for the child
In Option A, he sends money every month to help pay for the child. You agree the amount together before pregnancy.
Why there is no amount on this page
Raising a child in Lagos, Lyon or Singapore costs very different amounts. One number would be wrong for most people who read this page. Also, a number on a public page leads to bargaining before you even know each other.
So this page tells you how it works instead. The money is real. It comes every month. It is based on the real cost of raising a child well where you live. And it goes up when prices go up.
A basic amount, and more
The basic amount pays for the child’s everyday needs: food, clothes, health care and the basics of daily life. It comes every month.
Above it, he can give much more: for a better school, for studies, for trips together, and for the child’s own plans. How much more depends on how the plan works between you. When you talk honestly, keep him informed and respect his place in the child’s life, he gives more.
How you agree it
After your video calls, you work out the details together. You agree the basic amount, how often you look at it again, and what happens if life changes. School is part of this conversation from the start, because it is often the biggest cost.
Each of you should get advice from your own lawyer, in your own country, before you decide. Never agree to something that you do not fully understand.
One part of a plan for two people
Money is one part of Option A, not all of it. It goes together with the calls, the news and the honest communication described on the Option A page. Like any plan between two people, it works when both of them do what they agreed.
